According to local sources, the Earth Fare grocery store at 3450 Westgate Mall in Fairview Park closed its doors more than two years ago after filing for bankruptcy.

However, local residents were delighted when the health-focused supermarket reopened this week.

The Fairview Park Earth Fare location officially opened at 8 am on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. According to one post on the store's Facebook business page, more than 500 residents came out and waited in line for the doors to open on its grand opening day.

The store offers a variety of healthy food options and is open from 8 am to 9 pm daily.

According to Earth Fare's website, the company got its start in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1975 and was the city's first health food store. However, the now popular grocery store chain didn't open its second store until 1997, when it opened its Charleston location.

In 2004, Earth Fare became one of the first retail grocery stores to stop selling items with high fructose corn syrup. They also pledge that the items sold at their stores are free of added hormones, artificial sweeteners, antibiotics, artificial preservatives, colors, and flavors, as well as bleached flour.

The Earth Fare grocery store chain now has approximately 25 store locations throughout the country.

Residents are excited to have a health-focused grocery store in the area again, and we are glad to see Earth Fare back in the community.
