Pets provide us with companionship, love, and loyalty. They help reduce stress and anxiety and can even improve our physical health. In return, we owe them a lifetime of care and love.

Unfortunately, not all animals are lucky enough to find a forever home. Instead, many end up in shelters, where they face an uncertain future. That's why Animal Friends in Pittsburgh is currently hosting a special "name your own price" adoption event.

From now through July 3, 2022, you can choose the amount you wish to donate to the shelter and adopt one of the animals the shelter is currently housing.

It's a great cause, and you could end up making a lifelong friend. So if you're considering adding a pet to your family, check out Animal Friends in Pittsburgh, located at 562 Camp Horne Road. You might find your new best friend.

The shelter's adoption floor is open to the public daily with the exception of 3 pm to 5 pm to ensure that the animals have some downtime to relax during the day.

Recently, the shelter has experienced a great deal of overcrowding. This is because many people adopted pets during the pandemic to keep them company while they were forced to be at home.

However, now that many people are returning to work and everyday life, they couldn't keep up with the responsibilities of owning a pet. As a result, many animals were dropped off at shelters, including Animal Friends.

While adopting a pet from a shelter is a fantastic way to help reduce overcrowding and support local animal rescues, it's important for people to understand that adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment and to be prepared for the responsibilities of pet ownership.
