A popular new restaurant is coming to Kansas City this week that could literally stop traffic. Read on to learn more.
On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, the popular burger chain Whataburger will host the grand opening of their new store at 10780 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City.
City officials have issued a five-day traffic warning starting on the morning of June 7th and ending on June 12th at 5 pm.
During this time, traffic on Parallel Highway is expected to be very congested as hungry fans of the iconic burger restaurant line up to get their fill.
Traffic patterns will also be changed for the next five days to accommodate the Whataburger grand opening. For example, the far-right lane of Parallel Parkway will be coned off west of N. 106th Street.
If you would like to avoid the traffic congestion on Parallel Parkway this week, it is recommended that you use NB N 106th or NB Village Parkway to get around the backup.
For those interested in what the new Whataburger has to offer, you can expect mouthwatering cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, and even savory salads. You might also want to give their famous Dr. Pepper milkshake a try.

The famous brand started nearly 70 years ago at a burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas. The restaurant's founder, Harmon Dobson, set out to create a burger so big that customers would be forced to hold it in both hands.
