Minneapolis shoppers will have one less clothing store to purchase from as another popular fashion brand closes its doors for good.
Urban Outfitters just announced that it will be closing its store location at 3006 Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. According to local reports, the store is set to close its doors for good at the end of the day on June 20, 2022.
The Urban Outfitters brand offers stylish clothing for men and women. It also features trendy accessories, beauty, and home products. Urban Outfitters stores often have a mix of curated products, some of which are designed in-house, and others from brands that share the company's lifestyle and cultural aesthetic.
Once the Uptown Urban Outfitters location closes next month, only three store locations will remain open in Minnesota. Customers can still shop in physical Urban Outfitters stores located at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Ridgedale Center Mall in Minnetonka, and Rosedale Center in Roseville.
According to local reports, the store's location was listed for sale or lease over two years ago. Several other national brands have left the Uptown shopping district in the past few years including Apple, North Face, and Columbia.
It is not yet known if another store has plans to take over the Urban Outfitters location in Uptown once the store closes next month. However, several new restaurants have opened in the area including Uptown Diner, Sooki & Mimi, and Ann Kim's restaurant.
