Thrill your little paleontologists and dinosaur fans with a prehistoric adventure! The Dinosaur Adventure Drive-Thru is coming to the Des Moines area and you can take a Jurassic journey featuring life-sized dinosaurs without leaving your vehicle. Your family can see the mighty T-Rex, 30-foot Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor, and more – all from the comfort and safety of your car. Here’s what to know about this upcoming event!

Warning Des Moines! There are life-sized, roaring dinosaurs that have broken free from their Jurassic enclosures and are taking over Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA from June 3 – June 13! Your family won’t want to miss out on this rare opportunity to witness all of your favorite dinosaurs roaming around the Adventureland parking area.

A special drive-thru experience, families can take this thrilling Prehistoric journey with the help of an immersive audio tour, which will help guide you and your families through the Dinosaur Adventure Drive-thru!

During your visit, you will encounter the infamous T-rex, a Brachiosaurus, and many more of the world’s most popular dinosaurs up close from the safety of your vehicle! You’ll also get a free family photo as a special memory of your experience.

To make this Jurassic journey even more special for your little dino fans, special Adventure Packs are available for purchase. These Adventure Packs are toy packs/souvenirs for children and each pack includes: A drawstring backpack, Dinosaur Adventure T-shirt, Dino hatch egg, dino dig kit, toy plush, sticker pack, and cotton candy. Claim your purchased adventure pack when you arrive at the event and claim your ticket. Look for the signs that say “Adventure Pack ticket holders.”

The Des Moines, Iowa Dinosaur Adventure event will be held from June 3 – June 13 at Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA. Adventureland Park is located at 3200 Adventureland Dr., Atloona, IA 50009.

Interested families can reserve their place in this Dinosaur Adventure before ticket sales are extinct. Tickets for the event are on sale online now at and start at $49 per ticket.

Tickets for this event are sold on a per day / per time slot basis. Your family may arrive at any time during the time window that you select. When you are purchasing tickets, be sure to confirm that you are selecting the correct date and time slot. If you would like the flexibility of arriving at any time during the day, you may purchase an “Anytime ticket”, of which there are a limited quantity available.

Tickets will not be sold onsite and must be purchased in advance online. Tickets for the Dinosaur Adventure does not include admission to Adventureland theme park.

The Dinosaur Adventure will be held rain or shine. The Dinosaur Adventure Drive-Thru experience takes approximately 30-45 minutes after you have entered the gate. Paid admission allows you to drive through the event one time per ticket.

Each Dinosaur Adventure ticket is valid for 1 vehicle for up to 8 people. Guests riding in the back of pick up trucks, or large vehicles such as limos, passenger vans, RV’s will not be permitted. All guests are asked to remain in their vehicles during the adventure.
