This St. Patrick’s Day, Blank Park Zoo wants to show off their party animals with a fun, low-capacity and socially distanced event. They invite Des Moines area adults to change out of their sweatpants, gear up in green, leave the house and to enjoy a kid-free night out with animals, drinks, eats, trivia, music and more.

Celebrate St. Patty’s Day this year at an unique event unlike any other. After work, head to the Blank Park Zoo for an evening of fun and adventure. At this event, you will be able to enjoy indoor and outdoor viewing of animals, zoo keeper chats, cold drinks, delicious food from Street Eats DSM, St. Patrick’s Day themed trivia and live music from South of Society.

Events and Activities
The doors for Shamrocks & Shells open at the Blank Park Zoo at 4:30 pm on St. Patrick’s Day. Guests for the event are welcome to come inside, grab a drink, roam the Zoo, and enjoy learning about their favorite zoo animals. Animals will be available for viewing both indoors and outside.

Eats and Treats
When you’re hungry, you will be able to grab a bite to eat when Street Eats DSM begins serving at 5:30pm in front of the Holmes Foster Event Center.

Team Trivia

Live Music
Enjoy live music as South of Society begins rocking out at 6:30pm. At this time, the animals will go off exhibit and all guests for the event will stay in the Holmes Foster Event Center area.

Dust off your kilt, show your shamrocks and dress completely head-to-toe green grab for a chance to win a prize! Red-heads (whether their hair is natural, dyed or a wig!) will be rewarded with a free koozie.
