Adams, a professional engineer licensed in multiple states, has more than 29 years of experience in consulting engineering practice with a specialty in water and wastewater infrastructure. He is an active member of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) and formerly chaired the Small Systems Committee, Wastewater Treatment Committee, and the Georgia Water Environment Federation. He is also the current Georgia delegate to the National Water Environment Federation.

Adams isn’t new to Forsyth County government either; he has worked as a consultant for the county for almost 20 years.

“Scott Adams has extensive experience working with Forsyth County, and we are very excited that he is joining the Water & Sewer team,” said Lucas. “His background and

expertise with water infrastructure project management and his wealth of knowledge in water resources in this region and the state will serve him well as he leads the Department.”

Adams has worked as a consulting engineer for various firms, including Brown and Caldwell and Hayes, James, and Associates, Inc. While working as a consultant, Adams was in charge of planning, designing, and constructing more than 30 Forsyth County Water & Sewer Infrastructure projects. Hopefully, Adams’ experience with County projects will make it easy for him to hit the ground running in his new leadership role.

The Forsyth County Department of Water and Sewer states that its mission is “to provide Forsyth County with the highest quality of water and sewer service through progressive leadership and environmental stewardship.” Residents can use the website to do things like request new water service, pay their bills, or request an emergency contact. The office is located downtown at 110 E. Main Street in Suite 150 in Cumming.
