(Forsyth County, GA) The Cumming City Center continues to come to life with more businesses and restaurants officially opening their doors. Despite the rain, boutique Pieces and Peaches and the English “chippy” Wright’s Fish and Chips both held ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Thursday, April 27.
Pieces and Peaches got things started with their event at 9:30 a.m. The mother-daughter team celebrated with friends and family members as they showed off their stylish new boutique. They also announced that they will host a grand opening event this Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be “swag bags” for the first 50 customers as well as raffles and giveaways all day long. The Campfire Coffee truck and the Los Rios Mexican Restaurant will be parked outside from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and City Center tenant Simple Man Distillery will be outside from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with samples. There will also be live acoustic music provided by Muse Cabin guests.
Wright’s Fish and Chips had their turn with the big scissors next at 10:30 a.m. The rain didn’t put a damper on the event with big smiles all around.
“It’s the perfect London-style weather for an opening today,” joked one attendee.
They are open tonight until 9 p.m. and their regular hours will be Tuesday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In other City Center news, Vampire Penguin opened last weekend during the Spring Pop-Up Market. They specialize in “shaved snow” - elaborate dessert creations that combine a flavored shaved ice base with fruits, sweet toppings, and syrups. For example, the “Sweet Tooth” special combines cotton candy-flavored shaved snow with graham cracker crumbles, marshmallows, whipped cream, and sprinkles.
Vampire Penguin was closed on Monday after the market but reopened again on Tuesday for regular business. Their normal hours are Monday-Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., though their hours may vary with special City Center events.
Finally, Sugar Polish Nail Bar also had a soft opening at the City Center this week. Sugar Polish offers classic, signature, and luxury manicures and pedicures as well as waxing and paraffin treatments. Though Sugar Polish has several Georgia locations, this is their first in Forsyth County.
“We are proud to bring our exclusive vision of what we believe the nail industry has been lacking in the city of Cumming," said business owner Jaden Tran.
To celebrate the opening of their new location, Sugar Polish is offering 20% off from Wednesday, April 26 to Sunday, April 30. They are open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
