(Forsyth County, GA) It’s finally happening. After the months-long wait, Forsyth County residents can grab a meal at the City Center with friends and family.
The first restaurant to open was the Tin Cup Grill with an invitation-only soft opening on Friday, April 14. Its grand opening was Wednesday, April 19 with dinner service in the Club area. For now, it will be open nightly from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lunch service may begin in the coming weeks; check the Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
To prevent confusion, the Tin Cup Grill is a separate restaurant from the silver trailer where guests can get their golf course supplies and snacks. The menu features appetizers like lamb meatballs and fried calamari as well as salads, sandwiches, burgers, and the restaurant’s specialty, “steak on a stone.” Diners can also enjoy a variety of wines, cocktails, and draft beers.
The Course at Tin Cup is also now open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, from 4 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays. The cost to play is $13 for adults and kids 13 and up and $7.50 for kids ages 6-12. Kids under 6 play free.
The second restaurant to open at the City Center will be Wright’s Fish and Chips. The traditional English “chippy” will open its doors for the first time on Thursday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Their regular hours will be Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with extra late hours when the City Center holds special events like this Friday’s Smokey Jones and the Three Dollar Pistols concert.
Wright’s will serve up hot battered cod and handmade “chips” - think thick-cut British-style fries - along with other English favorites like pies, pasties, and sausage rolls. Anglophiles can also pick up a variety of British crisps, sweets, and chocolates or enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee.
Besides the exciting restaurant opening announcements and the concert this Friday, the Cumming City Center will also host the Cumming Farmers Market on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the free pop-up Spring Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sunday, April 23, there will also be a “Walk for Recovery” to help provide support and resources to families battling addiction. The event will also feature a guest speaker, live music, and a memorial service.
