The State of Florida has announced it will cut ties with the American Library Association. (ALA) The change comes in the wake of controversial books being removed from school shelves in the state. Florida has passed several new laws limiting the content of some sexually explicit books from school libraries, deeming them age-inappropriate, as well as controversial Black History curriculum. Critics of the new laws have decried the moves as “book banning”, and include high-profile politicians such as Vice President Kamala Harris.

If you’re like me, you love science fiction movies and shows. Whether it be shows about space, time travel, or some sort of monster, we are swept into another world, albeit temporarily, and experience the wonders before us from the comfort of our couch. Like many of you, I love crab legs. It doesn’t matter what kind of crab legs they are, drizzle a little butter on them and I’m eating until I’m comatose. But concerning news from the Bering Sea is threatening the long-term viability of the snow and king crab fishery.

As the old saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. That about sums up how many of us feel when Bluefish are hitting the bait. As the mullet run draws to a close and the weather cools a bit, Blues have taken over the surf in parts of Brevard County. And while some people are perfectly happy catching Blues, others see them as a nuisance. Some even use them as bait since larger fish have no problem making a meal out of them.

It was bound to happen. With so many UFO and alien stories in the news as of late, a company has decided to jump on the bandwagon and profit from the craze. In case you’ve been living under a rock, or you haven’t read a few of my previous articles, it’s now okay to talk about aliens, no tin foil hat required. Even the Federal Government and NASA have gotten in the act, admitting they don’t know what some of the sightings are. Even better, they can’t rule out extraterrestrial origin. And now, it’s going mainstream.
