For many years, Cracker Barrel was nationally recognized as one of the best country-themed chains in the nation. They serve Southern comfort food favorites including fried chicken, Mac and Cheese, mashed potatoes, greens, biscuits, and much more.
However, over the last few years the popular chain, which has locations in NC, has struggled. As a result of that - the chain is still losing customers. According to an article published by Eat This, Not That, in June, the chain reported that "its guest traffic levels dropped 3.2% during the third quarter which ended on April 28". The CEO of the company, Sandy Cochran, said that the decline is because many families have cut back on eating out due to inflation and higher prices in the restaurant industry.
The chain was hoping that things would improve during the summer, but that has not been the case. One way that the company plans to win customers back is by offering more affordable options on the menu. One of those options is 20 meals that are under $12.
