USA Today just recently released an article titled, "USA Today's 10 Best City Parks". The article stated that the best "city parks" offer a wide range of activities for residents and visitors that include but are not limited to "playgrounds, community gardens, skate parks, and live performances". In order to come up with the list, the publication asked a panel of experts for nominations, and then readers voted for their favorite city parks. SC residents will be proud to know that not only did one park in the state make the list - but it ranked very high! The SC park that made the list is none other than - Falls Park on the Reedy in Greenville!
Although Falls Park on the Reedy in Greenville is smaller than many of the other city parks on the list, it is by far one of the most influential and beautiful. As a result of that, mayors from across the nation come to visit the city park in Greenville and study it. The city park has stunning waterfalls and also has an award-winning pedestrian suspension bridge. Other notable city parks that made the list are Balboa Park in San Diego, California at #10, City Park in New Orleans, Louisiana at #8, Bruce Park in Greenwich, Connecticut at #4, and coming at #1 none other than - Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri!
