For many individuals, there is nothing more refreshing than a cold mug of beer - especially after a long day. With so many different kinds of beers to choose from, there is something for just about anyone who is an avid beer drinker. Some cities in America are more well-known for beer than others, and according to one major publication - one city in NC was named one of the "Best Cities for Beer Drinkers" in America! In this article, we will take a look at which city in NC made the list, why they made it, as well as look at other cities that made the list!

On January 26, 2023, smartasset.com released an article named, "Best Cities for Beer Drinkers - 2022 Edition". The publication was on a quest to find the best beer hubs in America, and it definitely took a lot of time and research. According to the publication, in order to find out which cities were the best for beer drinkers, they compared 393 cities using the following metrics, the total number of breweries, breweries per 100,000 residents, the average number of beers per brewery, bars per 100,000 residents, and the average price of a pint. The NC city that made the list is none other than - Asheville! Not only did Asheville make the list, but they were also ranked in the top five!

The top 10 included Missoula, MT at #10, Austin, TX at #9, Fort Collins, CO at #8, New Orleans, LA at #7, Cincinnati, OH at #6, Asheville at #5, St. Louis, MO at #4, Milwaukee, WI at #3, Bend, OR at #2, and coming in at #1 none other than - Pittsburgh, PA! According to the publication, Asheville ranks first overall for the number of breweries per 100,000 residents (27.6) and the city also has a variety of beer-related events, festivals, and nano-breweries. Basically, if you are a beer drinker - Asheville needs to be one of your top places in America to visit or consider moving to!
