North Carolina is nationally known as a "foodie destination" and has a plethora of great eateries. Rather you are looking for fresh seafood, great barbecue, or even something more upscale - the state definitely has something for your taste buds! As a result of that, it should not come as a surprise that North Carolina is home to two eateries that were named among the top-ranking eateries in the nation. Not only were the eateries ranked - they both made the top 10! In this article, we will see which two eateries made the list, and where they are located in NC, and check out a few other eateries that made the list!

Tripadvisor.com released an article ranking the "Best Places to Eat" in the United States, in September 2022. According to the website, they determined which eateries were the best in the U.S. by dividing them into several categories including, best places for date nights, fine dining, hidden gems, and everyday meals and quick eats. The website also claimed that the "Best of the Best Awards", was decided by people who visited and reviewed these places in the past year.

The Restaurant at Gideon Ridge in Blowing Rock was ranked the #2 "Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the U.S.", and the #1 "Top Date Night Restaurant in the U.S." (also #11 in the world)! Buxton Munch Company in Buxton was ranked #9 in the "Top 10 Hidden Gems in the U.S." category! The only other eatery from the Carolinas to make the list was Halls Chophouse in Charleston, SC.
