If you are a seafood lover, there is a great chance that you have eaten a crab cake at some point in your life. However, there are not many individuals in this world that can claim that they have eaten the most expensive crab cake in the world! Many may not be aware that a former chef and restaurant owner from SC still holds the Guinness World Record for the "Most Expensive Crab Cake", despite his being out of the restaurant business for a few years now! In this article, we will reveal who the chef is, how he achieved the record, and what he is up to nowadays!

Former chef and restaurant owner, Lazarius K Walker, is known for a lot of things in the food and beverage world. Walker, the former owner of the popular Columbia restaurant, "The Twist", is a former "Thomas Breakfast Battle Food Truck Champ", a national food truck winner, and he was honored with an SC Governors Award. Walker has also been featured on national television networks such as Food Network, HGTV, and FOX. However, one of his biggest accomplishments is holding the record for the "Most Expensive Crab Cake" in the world!

According to guinnessworldrecords.com, "The Platinum Crab Cake" was sold at The Twist and was made of black truffles, platinum leaves, platinum dust, king crab meat, lump crab meat, butter, and herbs. The Platinum Crab Cake cost $310! You can watch how the extravagant dish is prepared here. Walker is no longer a restaurant owner and is now in the real estate business, however, he is forever thankful for the opportunities he has received as a result of holding a Guinness World Record!
