Many may not be aware that a former chef and restaurant owner from SC still holds the Guinness World Record for the "Most Expensive Crab Cake", despite his being out of the restaurant business for a few years now! Former chef and restaurant owner, Lazarius K Walker, is known for a lot of things in the food and beverage world. Walker, the former owner of the popular Columbia restaurant, "The Twist", is a former "Thomas Breakfast Battle Food Truck Champ", a national food truck winner, and he was honored with an SC Governors Award. Walker has also been featured on national television networks such as Food Network, HGTV, and FOX. However, one of his biggest accomplishments is holding the record for the "Most Expensive Crab Cake" in the world!

According to, "The Platinum Crab Cake" was sold at The Twist and was made of black truffles, platinum leaves, platinum dust, king crab meat, lump crab meat, butter, and herbs.
