NASHVILLE, TN – The Cornelia Fort Pickin’ Party series comes back in 2021. Two of the series have already taken place on May 15 and July 17. The last event will take place on August 28 at 7 p.m. at Cornelia Fort Airpark in East Nashville.
The Cornelia Fort Pickin’ Party is an annual concert which presents local musicians, beers, foods, and family activities. Musicians are urged to bring banjos, fiddles, guitars, dobros and mandolins to assemble in groups and perform the night away.
The event will have pod-style seating for two, four, or six guests for this year’s edition. There will also be a family pod for two adults and three children.
Tickets for the event will not be sold at the gate, instead they will be available for pre-sale only. For a pod, the price is around $60-$144. Pod purchase includes one adult drink ticket, one box of Tiff's Treats cookies, and free parking.
There are additional foods and drinks to purchase. Food vendors present at the event are Yazoo, Woodland Wine Merchant, Gypsy Crepe Company, and Il Forno Wood-Fired Pizza.
One of the concerts’ objectives is to preserve the unique city landmarks Cornelia Fort Airpark and Shelby Park. The event takes place to do a mission for the city’s landmarks. Together with the non-profit organization committed to the preservation of the landmarks, Friends of Shelby: the Pickin’ Party raises funds for Shelby Park and Bottoms. All funds raised from the event series will go towards revitalization and improvement programs in Shelby Park and Bottoms, as well as Cornelia Fort Airpark.
