NASHVILLE, TN — Nursing School Hub has recently listed Lipscomb University’s School of Nursing as the fifth top program in the state.
The publication assesses programs primarily on accreditation, curriculum standards, National Council Licensure Examination passing rate, clinical relationships with local hospitals and placement rates.
The School of Nursing at Lipscomb University, which is part of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, offers an advanced nursing education while also giving every student personal assistance and supervision to help them become the best nurse they can be.
For regular undergraduate students and transfers, the school provides a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and also an online RN-to-BSN program which can be finished in less than 16 months for Registered Nurses with an Associate Degree aiming to complete their BSN. Students can “practice before they practice” in an on-campus facility that contains an advanced patient simulation lab.
Students encounter health problems covering the entire lifespan, from premature babies to the elderly, in the Health Sciences Simulation Laboratory. Twenty-three computerized patient simulators present realistic health situations and respond to the interactions of students. Nursing students are also taught about health informatics and how to handle medical equipment. In the event of a catastrophe, the lab is ready to treat real patients.
Another feature of Lipscomb’s nursing school is the practice of Christ-centered nursing care, which involves medical mission trips and worldwide educational programs for students.
Highly qualified faculty in all clinical and specialist areas teach student nurses and operate as academic advisers and mentors. They’ll be looking out for each student’s particular needs and aspirations. Students finish nurse preceptorships and residency programs at some of the country’s best medical facilities, thanks to Lipscomb’s location in Nashville, the nation’s healthcare capital.
