NASHVILLE, TN — Most of the time, teachers often pay for their own supplies using their own pocket money to bridge the gap between what families can provide and what is needed in class. As a community, at PENCIL, they can remove the barriers and support both the students and the teachers.
By supporting the Together 4 Teachers campaign, they ensure that the teachers have enough supplies and materials needed at the beginning of the school year.
Together 4 Teachers (T4T) is PENCIL’s annual campaign with goals to provide a tote bag filled with high-need supplies to every classroom teacher in Metro Nashville Public School.
Together 4 Teachers has two main primary goals such as to celebrate and appreciate teachers especially in Nashville and, at the same time, to raise awareness about the LP PENCIL Box, allowing teachers to shop for free supplies all year round.
T4T is actively seeking participants and this campaign will run until the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
In late July or early August this year, there will be a Pack-a-thon event, where hundreds of volunteers will gather in a safe and socially distant for a few days, and start to sort, pack and deliver supplies to public schools across the district.
The campaign is made possible by community investment through sponsorships, in-kind support and monetary donations.
PENCIL is a non-profit organization that builds strategic partnerships between community groups and supports the needs of Metro Nashville Public School. They are one of the nation’s largest networks of businesses, universities and faith-based organizations that engage in public schools. They believe community involvement is the key to academic success for students.
