Memorial Day weekend is here! For most of us, it means the summer's here! It's going to be hard to keep the kids focused at school. It also means we'll see more traffic coming from downstate to enjoy the holiday weekend.

While most of us think about barbeques, beach weekends, and boat rides on the lake, our veterans take the time to remember their sacrifice for our freedoms. It's also a day for veterans to remember their fallen comrades and honor them. They deserve our thanks for their sacrifice for the country.

One church is giving their Saturday morning to veterans

In honor of this sacrifice, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin is hosting a pancake breakfast for veterans and their spouses. On May 29th, from 8:30 to 10:30, veterans can come to the church. Patrons will be happy to serve veterans as many pancakes as they like. Veterans can also meet others who fought for this country.

It's free for any veteran who wants to come, but the church asks that they reserve a spot. The flyer, pictured above, has the phone number, website, and Facebook page so anyone can reserve their spot for breakfast.

If you're interested in meeting other veterans and having an excellent breakfast, reserve a spot today!

Memorial Day is a time to remember our fallen soldiers. They sacrificed themselves so that we can have the freedoms we often take for granted. Our veterans sacrificed too, and they deserve thanks for their service to our country.

This pancake breakfast is one way for people to give their thanks to our veterans. If you're a veteran in the Gladwin area, reserve a spot today!
