Georgian Man Becomes World's 1st Trillionaire Overnight Thanks To A Technical Glitch

This story will remind you of Warren Buffet's famous quote -

"If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die."

We all have a dream about turning an overnight billionaire, waking up to a world where we would enjoy our life to the fullest, not having to do regular jobs to survive, with everything taken care of with the never-ending cash.

However, you can't become a billionaire without investing right, and cryptocurrency currencies have become the new trend in investment, with every investment guru propagating to try out the latest get rich scheme.

And, it's not entirely wrong; the boom in crypto has seen many investors becoming millionaires. Moreover, with celebrities like Elon Musk entering the game, the crypto markets are going crazy each day with renewed interest from new investors.

However, in the world of cryptocurrency, bizarre is a common phenomenon. Yet, what happened to US-based Christopher

Williamson is a story beyond the odd.

While becoming a billionaire overnight may sound like a fantasy world, the dream almost turned true for this Georgian man named Chris Williamson.

Williamson, a nursing student from Georgia who had been trying his luck around with investments in the Crypto market, woke up on the morning of June 16 to check his trading account on Coinbase, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges.

As soon as he opened the Coinbase app that day, he fell out of bed.

Why? Because his trading account showed a balance of more than $1 trillion, which would make him the first-ever trillionaire and the richest man in the world.

At first, he thought he was still in his sleep, and it was some dream before counting the 13-digit number in his portfolio.

But how could that be even possible? Chris Williamson had invested only $20 in a digital currency named Bunny Rocket that suddenly turned into a trillion-dollar amount overnight in his Coinbase app.

After this, he contacted the Coinbase app's support and realized that everything about turning into a trillionaire was a technical glitch. Sadly it was not some fortune turn-around for him.

In his interview given to Fox News, Chris said that "Rocket Bunny currency in his Coinbase account would not show the same amount when he tried to withdraw and transfer and it to another platform."

Sharing the incident on Twitter, he posted screenshots of his portfolio and a mail reply that he received from Coinbase support after reaching out to them about the incident.

Chris said that he was expecting the considerable sum of money to go away from his portfolio immediately, but instead, it still shows daily movement in the figures in his account.

He has been following up with several emails to the crypto trading platform, and in one of the emails, he joked about his plans to build a mega penguin-shaped yacht with the money reflecting in his portfolio.

However, Chris said if he had actually got this sum of money in real life, he would like to use it for people's help. He plans to open a free clinic and pay off his sister's home loan with a considerable sum.

While this looks like an afterthought, it would be interesting to see whether he would really follow his words, if Chris really manages to get some money out of the crypto platform as he has been receiving various suggestions on social media to sue the company for compensation for all the trauma he has gone through due to the technical glitch.

For now, this is still a distant dream as his account is frozen, and he is not allowed to make a withdrawal or transfer the coins in his account.
