Looks aren't everything, and at these Delmarva restaurants, that statement couldn't be more true. These places may not look fancy, but what they lack in decor, they make up for in the quality of their food. Here are four of my favorite no-frills restaurants where simplicity is the secret ingredient.
Lucky State
This is by far my favorite place for Chinese take-out in Berlin, and the people who work here are so nice! I love stopping by here after doctor's appointments for a quick lunch or early dinner. You can eat inside, but there is only one table available. I recommend the pork fried rice and the egg rolls.
Down Under
Located in Snow Hill, this tiny fast-food joint is the go-to place for breakfast and lunch. Down Under has been feeding Snow Hill employees for years with their affordable, fast lunch specials and friendly service. There are a few tables inside, but it's best to get a to-go order. I love the rockfish, milkshakes, fries, and wingdings.
Red Roof
Pocomoke's old Pizza Hut was transformed into this laid-back diner several years ago, and they've been kicking ever since. Homestyle meals, salads, pizza, and sandwiches are available for dine-in or take-out. Come as you are for a calm, quiet meal in a relaxed setting. I really love the coffee here.
Golden Garden
Similar to Lucky State, Golden Garden is a no-frills spot to get your favorite Chinese dishes. They have a few more tables, so feel free to sit down in the simple dining area and enjoy their delicious egg rolls, rice dishes, noodles, and soups. It's easily one of Pocomoke's best places for take-out.
