The Tennessee Swimming Hole that Dreams are Made of

Many of you know about Fall Creek Falls in Spencer, Tennessee along with its expansive, beautiful acreage. Among the acreage are waterfalls, hiking trails, camping, a lake and a hidden local swimming hole just down the road from the main entrance to the park. While there are no trails that connect this swimming hole to the park, there is a road (Owl Hole Road) that is best suited for Jeeps/Trucks that will lead you back to it. The road will take you a short way back to this incredible swimming hole known as Crusher Hole. Crusher Hole will be to the left at the split. We had to walk down the road because our low-riding car couldn't make it past the dip in the road at the entrance to Owl Hole Road. Definitely not far and we enjoyed the brief walk!

There are two very special things about this local swimming hole. The first is that Crusher Hole is spring fed which means it is always very cold. That is a great place to be when the squelching hot summer days roll around and you are looking for some relief after hitting the trails at Fall Creek Falls. The second is the breathtaking, emerald green/blue and very clear water that engulfs this little swimming hole. This is a favorite of the locals, so remember as a visitor to be respectful and leave no trace.

When we went to Crusher Hole we were the only ones there. It was peaceful and calm; with an indescribable feeling of serenity staring out over all that blue water! All that you could hear for miles and miles was the stillness of nature. Although, I am sure in the summer months you'll see a lot of fishermen, swimmers, and children giggling while they play.

If you are looking for a special place to relax for a while or just get away from the city noise, Crusher Hole is the place for you! It's definitely a place you don't want to miss out on seeing if you find yourself at Fall Creek Falls State Park! Keep in mind that the water is cold year-round and to come prepared for that! Its location is easily searchable on Google Maps by putting in Crusher Hole -Spencer, TN in the search bar.
