Whenever you make your next visit to Pagosa Springs, do not miss this uber-chic Espresso & Cocktail Bar--Root House.

Famous for its abundant trout, Pagosa Springs is a gorgeous town surrounded by the picturesque San Juan Mountains and San Huan river flowing through the town. Naturally occurring sulfur springs, including the world's deepest geothermal hot spring, the "mother spring" feed the local hot springs. An earth's original wellness destination offering a transformative experience for body, mind and soul.

Coming back to Root House, it is a riverfront espresso and cocktail bar with a cute lifestyle shop. This place is located just off the main street in downtown Pagosa Springs behind the Jim Smith Realty office.

It offers an interesting menu filled with flavors and aroma. Their freshly brewed local coffee with cinnamon rolls or sweet kolaches is a combination one should absolutely try.

Root house was our pit stop while coming back from our sojourn in Durango and it was an absolute delight. I had my extra-hot mocha with the crustless quiche and avocado toast. The soft croissants with a thin layer of chocolate ganache were the icing on the cake.

They have a beautiful setting inside with a souvenir shop along with a book space to enjoy conversations and reading. The patio outside with surrounding mountains, hot springs and the riverfront is spectacular.

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone visiting southern Colorado next time.
