Get a jumpstart on your wedding or event planning with a tour of this castle

The Cloisters Castle invites newly engaged couples and their families to a castle tour and meetings with local vendors during the Cloisters Castle Open House. Caterers, photographers, florists, and more will be available to help with all planning needs to create the perfect wedding at this historic landmark of Maryland. The Open House will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. located at 10440 Falls Rd., Lutherville, MD 21093.

Learn ways to get through grieve during the holidays

Volunteers from Gilchrist and the library's social worker discuss the difficulties of grief. Learn tangible things you can do to get through these special days and even seek comfort and meaning. This discussion will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Rosedale Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library.

Need help applying for your SNAP benefits?

A consumer benefits coordinator from Humanim, Inc. provides one-on-one assistance with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications and re-determinations. All community members are welcome to come anytime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Essex Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library. No registration is required for this event.

Adopting a Marian House woman or family means you will receive a wishlist of items from the residents and you can schedule a time to drop off the unwrapped items at Marian House any time before December 17. If you want to avoid the stores this holiday season, you can donate gift cards to Walmart, Target or Amazon and the staff at Marian House will do the shopping for you. You can contact Marian House at to let them know about your adoption or donation interests.

Beans and Bread is a comprehensive day resource program serving more than 300 people in need breakfast and lunch every day. They serve Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Mayor Brandon Scott will be joined by Baltimore City Department of Transportation Director Steve Sharkey, along with officials from the Baltimore City Departments of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, General Services, Police, Fire, Health, Housing, Office of Homeless Services and the Office of Emergency Management to announce that the City of Baltimore is fully prepared for the upcoming 2021-2022 snow season.
