Enjoy some live poetry at open mic night

The Poetry Party Live at the Garage, 6 East Lafayette Ave., is a hotspot for underground art and poetry. Doors open at 7 p.m. and that is when sign-up begins. Before the show there will be a happy hour and vendor market place taking place at 6 p.m. There will also be drink specials and exclusive shopping and giveaways happening before the event starts. Tickets are available online for purchase depending on what part of the event you would like to attend.

Get your kids involved in creative writing

The Baltimore County Public Library is holding an interactive weekly writing activity based around a book. Starting today at 6:30 p.m. at the Owing Mills branch, they will explore a different story and writing style. Families can attend one or all the sessions either at home or in person. For those who wish to participate at home you can request a Creative Writing Kit each week via curbside.

10 A.M. -- Opening of BGE Field Presented by Kelly at Reedbird Park

Mayor Scott will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of BGE Field Presented by Kelly at Reedbird Park located at Reedbird Park, 101 Reedbird Ave., Baltimore, MD 21225. This will be the 100th Youth Development Park that the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation (CRSF) has opened. The CRSF provides transformational at-risk youth programs and Youth Development Parks, and multipurpose parks, to create safe opportunities for youth in need.
