(Forsyth County, GA) The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has announced one of its newest staff members, K9 Maverick.
Maverick, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois, recently joined the Crime Reduction Unit as a Patrol Dog. His duties include apprehending suspects, and tracking and detecting narcotics.
A Facebook post from the FCSO stated that “This fur-missile doesn't mess around when it comes to the bad guy but he's smart enough to recognize our good citizens and would enjoy a scratch behind the ear from time to time.”
Maverick’s partner is Corporal Enrique Escolano, who was the previous partner of the now-retired K9 Ivo.
Maverick’s and Escolano’s first shift together was yesterday on Tuesday, May 23.
