(Forsyth County, GA) Interested in helping the community out this holiday season? Forsyth County Senior Services is looking for volunteers to participate in the 2022 Holiday Gift Angels and Home-Delivered Meals Holiday Gift Certificate Programs.
Holiday Gift Angels Program
On November 14, volunteers can pick up a personalized gift request tag which will have the name of an elderly resident and a gift idea for them.
Here is how to become a holiday gift angel:
1. Pick up a gift request tag at Charles Place or the Sexton Hall Enrichment Center. They can also be requested by contacting Senior Services at 770-781-2178 or by emailing seniorservices@forsythco.com.
2. Purchase a gift related to the gift idea on the tag.
3. Drop the gift off at Charles Place or the Sexton Hall Enrichment Center during business hours by December 1. The gift should be unwrapped in a gift bag with the gift request tag attached to it.
Home-Delivered Meals Holiday Gift Certificate Program
Prefer a more personal touch over buying a gift? Volunteers can also give homebound elderly residents the gift of a visit, a safety check and a nutritious meal through the home-delivered meals holiday gift certificate program.
Meals can be bought through Senior Services with a holiday gift certificate and are delivered through the Meals on Wheels program. From Thanksgiving to News Year’s Day, all delivered meals will include a special certificate with a holiday message for the recipient from the person who provided the meal.
Holiday gift certificates can provide meals for a day, week, month or even a year. The meal certificate prices are below:
- One day: $5
- One week: $25
- One month: $100
- One year: $1,200
Other donation amounts toward the program are also accepted.
Checks should be made payable to Forsyth County Senior Services (FCSS) Holiday Meal Certificate Program and may be mailed or delivered to:
