Local Restaurants Celebrate #407Day

Justin Cox

While shopping local and supporting independent restaurants is essential every day, #407Day encourages Orlando residents to enjoy the local culinary fare. Named for the Central Florida area code (407), the Orange County government launched the campaign last year to support the financially strapped local economy. Due to coronavirus restaurant restrictions, the inaugural celebration was limited to take-out, delivery, and curbside pickup options. This year, restaurants are also offering dine-in options for those interested.

To celebrate, many local restaurants are offering exclusive specials or discounts. These unique offerings are only available today, April 7, and while supplies last. This list will update as new restaurant deals are discovered.

Residents are encouraged to support their favorite local restaurant and share photos on Instagram using the hashtag #407DAY.

The Gideon's April-exclusive Stuart Valencia cookie is a vanilla bean chocolate chip cookie mixed with orange, pecan pralines, and candied orange peel. While this cookie is available all month long, today, the cookie is paired with Kelly's Alligator Tracks ice cream at Gideon's and all three Kelly locations. (source: IG)
