Pretend City Children's Museum
The Pretend City Children's Museum helps young children develop better minds by having a stimulating learning experience. The Museum includes a kid-sized, immersive city that encourages purposeful play, hands-on exploration, role-playing, and instructional programming. Children develop foundational math, literacy, and science skills whilst promoting interest, imagination, analytical thought, problem solving, coordination, teamwork, self-confidence, and socialization by 17 immersive exhibitions and events led by a professionally skilled professional staff. The museum is a one-of-a-kind community resource that provides free developmental screenings and tools to families, educators, and community organizations seeking to ensure that every child has the opportunities to explore their potential and create a positive and satisfying future.
The Irvine Museum
The University of California, Irvine now has a large collection of California art spanning from 19th-century California Impressionism and plein air to Post-War Contemporary, thanks to the purchase of The Irvine Museum Collection in 2016 and the addition of The Buck Collection in 2017. The UCI Institute and Museum of California Art (IMCA) was created in 2018 to take full advantage of these strengths and to link the campus and regional culture, with plans to build a new museum on campus over the next few years.
