Arkansas is a great state for so many different reasons. One of them for sure are all the amazing corporations that provide hundreds of thousands of people with jobs. Here is a list of some of the biggest corporations (with their headquarters in Arkansas) according to the revenue they made in 2020.


Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores from the United States, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas.

It operates in the retail industry and was founded in 192 by Sam Walton. Today it has 11,443 stores worldwide and is a world famous brand.

According to the Fortune 500 ranking, it's the US company with the highest revenue in 2020.

Three interesting facts about the company:

Walmart's Winemakers Selection private label wine was introduced in June 2018 in about 1,100 stores. The wine, from domestic and international sources, was described by Washington Post food and wine columnist Dave McIntyre as notably good for the inexpensive ($11 to $16 per bottle) price level.

In October 2019, Walmart announced that customers in 2,000 locations in 29 states can use the grocery pickup service for their adult beverage purchases. Walmart will also deliver adult beverages from nearly 200 stores across California and Florida.

In February 2020, Walmart spread the news that it has started a new membership program called, "Walmart +". This news were released shortly after Walmart cut ties with its personal shopping service, Jetblack.

Tyson Foods

Tyson Foods, Inc. is an American multinational corporation based in Springdale, Arkansas, that operates in the food industry. The company is the world's second-largest processor and marketer of chicken, beef, and pork after JBS S.A. and annually exports the largest percentage of beef out of the United States.

The company was founded in 1935 by John W. Tyson.

According to the Fortune 500 revenue ranking, it's ranked 79th in the US and 2nd in its state.

Three interesting facts about the company:

In 2007, Tyson created the Tyson Discovery Center, a 100,000-square-foot (9,300 m2) R&D center at their headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, to work on new products and better packaging.

Since 2000, Tyson Foods has donated millions of dollars in cash to help non-profit organizations across the country. Forbes named Tyson Foods the second most proportionally generous company for its donations in 2007.

As of 2017, Tyson has about 300 employees in R&D.

Murphy USA

Murphy USA is an American corporation operating a chain of retail gas stations that are primarily located in proximity to Walmart stores. It was founded as a spin-off of Murphy Oil in 2013.

The company was founded in 1935 by John W. Tyson.

According to the Fortune 500 revenue ranking, it's ranked 262th in the US and 3nd in its state.

Some interesting facts about the company:

In the first quarter of 2016, Murphy USA announced a change in its relationship with Walmart, as they began opening their own in-house gas stations and convenience stores. It plans to increase its locations independently of Walmart sites.

On December 14, 2020, Murphy USA announced that it has reached an agreement to purchase QuickChek convenience stores, based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, for $645 million.
