Alabama is located in the Southeastern region of the United States, bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west. According to Wikipedia, Alabama is the 30th largest by area and the 24th-most populous of the U.S. states.

Alabama’s nicknames are The Yellowhammer State, The Heart of Dixie, and The Cotton State.

Alabama’s capital is Montgomery, the largest city is Birmingham, and the largest metro area is Greater Birmingham.

I’ve always followed Alabama when it was college football season, and that’s exactly what they are super famous for.

What Alabama is the best at: College football

There is one thing that you will hear over and over in Alabama and that’s “Roll Tide!”. That’s how almost an entire state cheers for his team. The team I’m speaking about is the University of Alabama’s football team, which has won more national football championships than any of any college team since 1936.

Football season in this state is crazy. Packed stadium, thousands enjoying BBQ, and you can hear the “Roll Tide!” songs everywhere.

What Alabama is the worst at: High infant mortality

Alabama doesn’t score many points when it comes to health care for infants and pregnant women. According to my research, Alabama has the highest infant mortality rate, with over 0.9%. That's for sure something that Alabama has to work on.

Now I would like to learn from you what you like or dislike about Alabama.
