I lived in Gilbert for nearly three months while doing an internship at a tech company. I have many good memories of that time and I can tell you Gilbert is a really special city.

Gilbert is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona, once known as the “Hay Shipping Capital of the World” it is the sixth-largest municipality in Arizona, and the fifth-largest in the Phoenix metro area.

Gilbert is located southeast of Phoenix within the city’s metropolitan area at elevation 1237 feet (377m) above sea level.

The city of Gilbert operates under the Mayor-Council Manager form of government with leaders and authoritative branches that are elected by the voters for a four-year term. Brigette Peterson began her term in January 2021. The Mayor is the chief executive officer and chairperson of the Council.

Gilbert is the birthplace of many distinguished entrepreneurs, players and actors. In this article I’m going to introduce three people that really stand out from the crowd.
