Norman, Oklahoma's third-largest city, has plenty for all to appreciate. There are several things to do in Norman including visiting the University of Oklahoma or the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Outdoor activities, world-class museums, wineries and breweries, and a host of festivals take place during the year. Let us take a look at what Norman has to do.

Norman Tourist’s Attractions

In and around Norman, there are 55 parks. If you like to chill, admire nature, Norman's parks are a wonderful place to spend time and get fresh air. Lake Thunderbird State Park provides a wide variety of events in unique areas, including boating, water sports, swimming, walking, and hunting. There are two marinas, two bathing beaches, and hotel services. The Clear Bay recreation area comprises four kilometers of equestrian paths and a lake discovery center. The 160-acre George M. Sutton Wilderness Park, located closer to the city center, has a 1.3-mile wooded track for walking or running. There are white-tailed deer, Texas horned lizards, foxes, and over 200 bird species to be seen. There is a swimming pond, and dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash. If you want to go golfing in Norman, there are excellent golf clubs to choose from. One of them is Tripp Davis, which is a renowned golf course architect, designed Cobblestone Creek Golf Club, which has nine holes.

The grounds at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club were once a recreational center for the United States Navy, but they are now home to an 18-hole golf course. Best indoor and entertainment activities. One of the most enjoyable things to do in Norma is to visit HeyDay Norman. It has been a popular entertainment venue in the city since 2007, and it was recently expanded. There are arcade games, bowling, mini-golf, laser tag, and a ropes course. Food and beverages are also available.

When visiting Norman, beer and wine enthusiasts would not want to lose out on the finest breweries and wineries. Here is one of our favorites. Winery Native Spirits Native Spirits Winery, a family-owned company, produces Oklahoma wines for all palates using the finest grapes from around the world. You should walk around the vineyard and sample some of the wines. Throughout the year, the winery hosts a variety of activities, including Wine Night Out, which features live music every Friday.

Norman Restaurants

Brewing Company is a boutique brewery and taproom founded by two men. Craft beers, stouts, and ales are made here. Each batch tries out new brewing techniques and mixed fermentation methods. It is welcomed to hang out with friends in the taproom.

Black Mesa Brewery is on a short drive from our Norman bed and breakfast and is also hosting activities that you can never miss. It features a 10,000 sqft brew site, which produces some of Oklahoma's finest beer, a 1600sqft taproom, and an outdoor courtyard.

Ranch Steakhouse is one of the best places to dine in Norman. Awesome services, the best environment, and delicious food make this place a must-go. If you are a steak and seafood lover, another best place for you is Benvenuti’s. The cozy ambiance of this place will give you hues. Redrock Canyon Grill is another must-visit place to dine with your friends or family for the sake of a great food experience.

Norman Events

As a college town, Norman is a bustling city with plenty to do. Throughout the year, several fairs and festivals take place in Norman, and these are only a handful of the more notable ones. On the second Friday of each month, the 2nd Friday Art Show presents participating writers, musicians, writers, and artisans in an open-air art show in Downtown Norman. This year-round festival in Norman is a perfect way to experience local culture while still enjoying a night out in the town.

On the last weekend of April every year, the Norman Music Festival takes place. This is a festival for music fans in Norman, with over 200 concerts in 3 days. The annual Norman Mardi Gras Parade is one of the enjoyable stuff to do in the city by the end of February. A crazy festival that honors the heritage of Cajun with fire and hula dancers, singers, jugglers, clowns, funny and unique personalities, and parade floats. In April, Reaves Park hosts the annual Medieval Fair, returning you to the 14th century. The three-day festival, which has taken place since 1977, includes arts and crafts, sports, wine, and a variety of entertainment. There are jugglers, singers, jousting games, and storytellers.

The hottest month of the city is August and the average temperature in this month is 93.0°F. It is still better than the other cities of Oklahoma. Pleasant months in the city April, May, and October. The highest temperature of the cities goes to the above-average of 90°F on 61.7 days a year, which is lower than in most other parts of Oklahoma

The best time to visit the city is from 9th April-3rd June. March is the busiest month for the visitors which is followed by May and July. Due to being the most crowded months, this time will give you the most expensive rates of the hotels and flights. You can either book in advance or you can visit in January which is a less crowded month, so the fares are at their lowest.
