A prominent tourist destination in eastern Washington state, Spokane is home to a museum exploring the region's heritage with exhibits on art, culture, and Native American heritage. Campbell House dates from the beginning of the 20th century, which is situated next door. In the park, an aerial cable car observes the tumbling Spokane Falls from above. The park, which was once the 1974 World's Fair, now has a sculpture walk.

Spokane Attractions

Spokane offers attractions for the whole family, whether it's an outdoor adventure or art museums. Spokane's Riverfront Park is one of the city's crown jewels. There is also a tumbling Spokane Falls at Riverfront Park, not to mention other landscaped attractions like Manito Park and cultural establishments like the Fox Theater. Spokane's convenient location to Washington means there is also an ideal spot for your next vacation.

Riverfront Park

The Riverfront Park is an integral part of Spokane's cultural and recreational landscape. The site is home to a 100-acre park that provides residents and tourists alike opportunities for outdoor fun and cultural experiences. In spring, when the snowmelt swells the banks of the Spokane River banks, these falls offer an impressive display of power and movement.

Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture

A vast cultural institution in the Inland Northwest, the MAC features five underground galleries and rotating exhibits. Focusing on regional history, visual arts, and American Indian culture, the Museum supports a lifetime of learning with more than one million artifacts in its collection. The Museum's events calendar includes classes, lectures, and workshops in addition to the free coffee and tours of the Campbell House.

Manito Park

The park has been cultivating its reputation as one of the finest botanic gardens in the nation for a century in the scenic South Hill neighborhood. More than 150,000 visitors a year visit Manito Park, which consists of five major garden areas, such as the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden, and is home to over 20 acres of blooming flowers. Outside of the specified botanical gardens, Manito Park also offers 70-plus acres of the maintained native landscape.

Spokane Entertainment

The theater first opened in 1931 to a star-studded audience and packed house. Thus, the Fox Theater had the space to offer fans a big stage and a full orchestra pit, and balcony seats. It also made for an excellent venue for both live and screen performances.

Spokane Lodging

A massive reconstruction of this historic hotel in 2002 is famous for the work of the Davenport Hotel, initially constructed in 1914. A pipe organ, a central vacuum system, a housekeeping cart, and air conditioning were all present in this hotel at its original opening, making it a relatively modern place to stay. It remains one of the swankiest spots in town, and you can pop by, even if you're not staying overnight.

Spokane Dining

An excellent Ethiopian restaurant, Queen of Sheba, showcases how great Ethiopian food is; it offers lamb, beef, poultry, vegetarian, and vegan items. Iyeb, a buttermilk cheese, is one of their fabulous side dishes. There is no better place to expand your cultural horizons than a trip to the Queen of Sheba.
