My Friend Kirk Westervelt Caught His Very First River Salmon from the Sacramento River
This would be the third fishing trip targeting salmon from the Sacramento River that Kirk Westervelt Outdoors and I venture together. We were skunk the first two trips. On this trip, however, the tides changed. After a few teaser take-downs where the fish would not commit, we were blessed with a salmon that committed. She took the Silvertron lure by two out of three hooks, that is, two points from a treble hook sunk deep in her mouth. After a short fight, Kirk boated his very first river salmon.
