CATCH & RELEASE A KING SALMON From the Mokelumne River
Another fishing adventure chasing king salmon from the Mokelumne River. Some believe that king salmon no longer eat as they return from the ocean to the river of their spawning ground. They will strike out of aggression. Thus, an angler can entice a strike by jigging a lure in front of their face. However, if the salmon missed the lure and the hook is not in its mouth but rather stick to any other part of its body, the regulations require that the angler return it to the water.
