Mt. Lassen TROUT FISHING at ICE HOUSE RESERVOIR
I've have been pursuing Mt. Lassen Trout for the past three years. Typically, planted Mt. Lassen Trout are big rainbow trout with orange flesh. They are tasty from what I have heard. Imagine my excitement when I heard that the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is planting these trout at Ice House Reservoir, located in the Crystal Basin area of Eldorado National Forest and approximately an hour and a half drive from Sacramento, CA. The weather forecast for Sacramento is triple digit this week. Although not much cooler (around 10 degrees less), at least Ice House Reservoir has beautiful trees and is peaceful for relaxing and... fishing! On this trip, the first fish that I hooked up was a beautiful Mt. Lassen Trout!!! Unfortunately, my fishing line broke as I try to land it without a net. Don't leave home without your net when pursuing a Mt. Lassen Trout. Follow me for the rest of the story. Grateful for your support. Make sure to smash that follow and like buttons!
From monster size fish to the tiniest, we'll catch 'em all. Exercise, cooking, hiking and outdoors activities, we got a bit of everything. JU Nation consists mainly of my lovely wife, MM, our six children, one adopted adult child aka FarmFresh or the Other Daughter, and their expanding families. The majority of our videos will be with me, JU, as I fish with family, friends, and local anglers targeting salmon, sturgeon, trout, American Shad, or anything that swims. I fish from shore as well as on a boat. I will share with you what works for me when pursuing the different fish species. Occasionally, we (I, my wife, and our adult children) will upload fish cooking, traveling, hiking, and outdoors videos. Please follow me on News Break by pushing that "follow" button.
