This was one of maybe 5 huge sprinklers running last night at 11:15 pm. Some people just really need the moisture I guess. FYI I did fully stop to take this, and also there were no other cars around.

Crazy that Colorado residents were only allowed to collect rainwater off roofs in the last two years... I guess they didn't get the sprinklers blown out in time and running them was the only way to keep them from freezing and bursting.

Do you think golf courses should be fined for over-using water?

When it rains, this is the most deadly part of Chicago

I worked at Oak Street as a lifeguard and on rainy days we would have to have a lifeguard stand there to get CFD on scene and tell people to get out of their cars. Fortunately as a firefighter people usually spin out while attempting to slow down so unfortunately it is worse for accidents. But the most dangerous/deadly area of lakeshore drive is between McCormick place and 57th. . . It’s not a race track and for the love of god neither is the Dan Ryan!

Remember this gem of a McDonalds?

I can't believe we are in our third iteration of the Rock N Roll McDonalds. Honestly the first one was the best. Just a normal McDonalds packed with Elvis memorabilia. It was packed to the gills with Rock n Roll and pop culture memorabilia from the 1950’s and 1960’s. It was replaced with a badly needed larger McDonald’s with a decent design, but gutted all of the kitsch awesomeness on the inside.

Someone's had a rough week. This is classic Chicago

I walked out once to find my catalytic convertor stolen. It was annoying, but not a major inconvenience because I could afford to eat the loss and because my catalytic convertor replacement was relatively cheap (~$350). I feel for anyone who has this happen to them and it just creates a financial burden they can't handle.

King County Metro bus nearly hit me at bus stop while not picking me up

Today I was waiting for the last Route 301 bus of the day near the Dale Turner YMCA towards downtown Seattle and saw the the bus about 300 feet away and I got to the roadside with at least 15 seconds for the driver to notice me. I did not expect the bus to not decelerate at all and I had to withdraw my hand and step back and maybe not get a concussion from the side mirror.

Washington State

Washington State voted to end time changes in 2019. Why are we still doing this?

I would rather we stay on standard time myself. People complain about the "depressive" nature of sun setting too early, but I'm not particularly bothered by that. What I hate is waking up and getting dressed and leaving the house when it's still completely dark out.

My roof just got fixed last week. Does anyone know if this will just be a tropical storm?

I'm seeing lots of different models, but I don't really know how to read them. We've still got some localized flooding left over from Ian, and would really love to avoid packing our dogs and cats through flooded water and pushing our car.

Anyone else think these rentable scooters and bikes are an eyesore? They litter the sidewalks everywhere.

I get that they're convenient, and don't get me wrong, I love the service and usage they're providing. But they can get ugly littered around everywhere. They should have specific docking stations like Citi Bikes in New York City. That'd make it a lot prettier, and they could charge people who don't return them.

I recently moved here from Florida and I see a lot of Porsches on the road. Is it a Dallas thing where everyone goes for a Porsche as soon as they have “made it”. 😀 I love Porsches, by the way. I see a bunch of them in uptown or Highland park mostly.

FOOD ALERT: Inside the Seattle 7/11 Regional Warehouse

If you eat any refrigerated food at 7/11 then you're pretty brave, its thrown in bins like basketballs in the chill room with items constantly falling on the dirty floor [your salads too] and picked back up and put back in. People will purposely step on the lunchables in attempt to damage it enough to get them put into the break room as damaged, a lot of the times they just go back in the bin. I've never seen anyone wash their hands either, only thing the bathroom really gets used for it nasty temps peeing on the walls and for the alcoholics to drink in the stall and hide their beers in the trash can. Yeah the bathroom smells like hobo pee and beer. Don't get me started on leadership, one was let go for stalking a temp after being denied. We had a slower temp one day and the fool opened a nesquick and started drinking it as he put food away, we asked him what he's doing the only boss who actually cared would be in soon, so he just closed it and put it back in the bin, we all just looked at each other laughed and kept working.

Car battery died at the Denver Airport - PSA for anyone this happens to

I had to fly out of state to visit family over the weekend, and like the genius I am, I left one of the lights in my car on and my battery was completely dead when I got back. Exactly the kind of thing you want to return to after a day of traveling.

Lakewood voters: is there anyone I should actually write in here? Or just leave it blank?

Obviously RTD is in a big mess and the ones in charge are to blame. Do your research on who your current local RTD board member is and don't just put that name in!. However, do viable write-ins need to be registered in any way? ie If we all write in John Smith and he's an actual person in the district, will he actually get elected?

Confession: I don't understand what "Rip City" is supposed to mean?

I sat down for some happy hour at The Box Social (previous owners) and I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. My soup came out with RIP City written in crème fraiche and so I asked aloud, “why does my soup say R.I.P. City?”. The bar was in stitches.
