Last week the Barboza opened after 15 months of lockdown and allowed entry for vaccinated people. The Barboza, Runway, and Neumos complex had their reopening parties. Seattleites are back with live music culture and nightlife. The Barboza feels like a cave and has a long flight of stairs to the venue.
The venue is all air-conditioned and sensually lit. The Barboza has a piece of live music and a stage set with lit music to grab the crowd. The opening welcomed the Stranger Cover star Chong and the lights went out.
Chong played a set of all of her clever, organic, and wonky music. She also mixed some new tracks, and the people at the Barboza went crazy. She also played some of the old standbys, like Ghost in the shower. The set had visuals as the music, and it had spectacular lights.
