Working out? Sure. Dieting? Sure. These are the obvious New Year's Resolutions, and to be honest, it's very played out. Here are some other ideas which will hopefully inspire you to make a more logical choice for your New Year's Resolution for the year 2021.

Improve your Financial IQ

  • What does this mean? Most of us know how to save money (hopefully), but that doesn't mean you're putting your money to good use. Leaving your money in a shoebox under your bed, or in a savings account drawing 0.5% interest (if you're lucky) is not a wise decision today. Instead, try investing in stocks, bonds, index funds, real estate, or cryptocurrency. You've worked your whole life to earn that money, don't you think it's time your money works for you?

Cook New Things

  • Self-explanatory here. Learn new things in the kitchen. Pick up a cheap cookbook and take control of your tastebuds.

Drink Less Alcohol

  • Just like dieting and working out, this will also help improve your health and productivity on a daily basis. If I learned once thing during the pandemic, it's that I don't need to drink to have a good time. Bars were closed for months and I got out and partook in more non-drinking related activities than ever. Challenges like 75 Hard also help to make this easier.

Take the Stairs Once Per Week

  • Live in a building with elevators? Take the stairs. Whether you live on the 3rd or 43rd floor, do it. Your body will thank you.

Plan a Road Trip

  • Do this in a safe manner of course. I took a road trip during the heat of the pandemic and it was perfect. Click here to read more about my trip.

Hydrate

  • Drink a gallon of water a day. You'll feel magnificent. It's easier said than done.

Listen to Audiobooks While you Workout

  • I've ran through about 30 of these during the pandemic and I'll say that they've been life-changing.

Sanitize your Phone Weekly

  • Your phone is dirtier than a toilet seat. Use disinfectant wipes. Simple.

Go to Bed With your Partner

  • Healthy couples go to bed together. Nothing is more toxic than one staying up to watch TV in the other room while the other sleeps.

Buy Plants for your Home

  • Having lush plants in your home is proven to reduce stress. Do it!
