Bucket List #77
I stayed at the Burj Al Arab for one night during my trip to Dubai. This hotel is the only 7 star hotel in the world and has been rated the number 1 hotel in the world for several years now. The stay was extraordinary and I’ll explain why.
This was taken before I had a fantastic dinner at Al Mahara, a circular restaurant onsite with a massive aquarium in the middle. I didn’t read the dress code on their website, so I arrived in a plain white t-shirt. They gave me a blazer to wear as you aren’t supposed to have your arms exposed. Oops! I went on to have an excellent meal (Scottish Oysters, King Crab Risotto, and Wild Turbot). You don’t need to be a hotel guest to dine at this restaurant, but it’s recommended you make your reservation well in advance.
This first 5 photos above are of/from my room, suite, condo, house, whatever you want to call it.
Rewind: When I arrived to the hotel, they weren’t only very prepared for me (literally felt like they were waiting), but they even knew which hotel I had just checked out of. The woman handling my check-in greeted me with dates and a very fine juice. She proceeded to take me on a tour of the premises and finally up to my accommodations.
Outside of my door sat the butler for my floor who is there 24/7 (on rotation of course) to handle anything you need (shown in picture 6). He/she would also handle my check-out. As I walked into my suite, I was amazed by the entrance (foyer?). She proceeded to give me an in-depth tour. The living room, bedroom, and bathroom were immaculate. (3) is the view from my suite.
And then, my butler did something incredible:
I was blown away by the attention to detail and I expected nothing less from this fine establishment.
Upon check-out, I decided to get a ride in one of their Rolls Royce Phantoms to my next hotel. Flawless.
The photos above are various shots of the interior and exterior of the property. It’s certainly not a hotel for everyone, but if you can stay there, consider your mind... blown.
