Yankees win series over Twins, but Chapman implodes
The Yankees got some much needed victories and performances after a disheartening sweep at home at the hands of their division rival, the Boston Red Sox. Although the pitching wasn't fantastic, the offense would feast on Minnesota's pitching, including multiple home runs in the series from Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge and Miguel Andujar. The Yankees looked as though they were ready to sweep until the ninth inning of the series finale, where Aroldis Chapman would surrender two home runs on nine pitches to erase the Yankees' two-run lead and deliver a walk-off victory to Nelson Cruz. Chapman has been dominant this year, so falling to the league's worst team without recording an out was shocking to say the least. They look to bounce back from this loss in Philadelphia tomorrow, as they'll open a two-game set with Zack Wheeler and the Phillies on Saturday.
