If you’re in San Antonio, Texas and have only a few hours to spare, then these are the two things you should check out.
Back in June of 2021, my boyfriend and I flew out to Texas to spend some time with his older sister. As part of our time together, we decided to take a day trip out to San Antonio, Texas. The main reason why I wanted to go out to San Antonio was to see The Alamo.
There's so much history behind The Alamo and in Texas in general. From being constructed as a mission during the 18th century to the fortress and its pivotal role in The Battle of the Alamo for Texan independence, it's hard to see why you wouldn't want to explore here.
Of course, The Alamo is here in San Antonio and is worth taking a couple hours to walk around and explore its history. We took about a couple of hours in the Texas heat to explore, read all the information there was on The Alamo, and observe the old structure that still stands to this day.
Only a few minutes from The Alamo, you have The River Walk. This is a cool and fun thing to do, because you get to walk along the beautiful river, you can take a boat cruise on the river, shop, and grab food or drinks at some of the awesome places along the path.
My boyfriend, his sister, and I grabbed some lunch and drinks at a restaurant on The Riverwalk. Afterwards, we just walked around for a little bit to explore. The Riverwalk is so pretty, I can only imagine what it looks like at night or during special events. We saw a boat cruise of the river, so we paid for that. It was a lovely time going up and down the river, hearing about its history and some cool movies which were filmed here, like "Selena".
