South Forsyth High School presents “Bright Star.” The show tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past – and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. ​​Performances on 4/29, 4/30, 5/5, 5/6, and 5/7 at South Forsyth High School. Ready, Set, Preschool! is on April 29 at the Hampton Park Library from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. This is a school readiness program for children ages 3-5, but they must attend with a caregiver. For more information, click here.

Masterminds LEGO Lounge! is Friday, April 29, from 4:00 p.m to 4:45 p.m. at the Post Road Library. Create challenging builds with 100 pounds of LEGO blocks and bricks! Open to children grades K-5.

Preschoolers at Post is Friday, April 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Post Road Library. Join us on Fridays for a variety of hands-on preschool activities each week.

A Preschool Play Lab is on April 29 from 11:00 a.m. to noon at the Sharon Forks Library. Educate and entertain your preschooler at the library. For more information, click here.

Saturday Family Storytime is April 30 from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Post Road Library. Start your weekend off right with a family storytime at the Post Road Library.

Green Thumb Gardeners is April 30 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cumming Library. Meet a Forsyth County Master Gardener and learn about everything gardens! Open to gardeners of all ages.

Stop by Halcyon for some “Groovin’ on the Green” every Friday and Saturday this month. Take in the tunes from local musicians while enjoying food and drinks from the many restaurants at Halcyon. Get more information about the music series here

Sofia Talvik is performing a concert on April 30 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sautee Nacoochee Center. The Americana folk singer with Swedish roots performs original music that’s a blend of sparkle and melancholy. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.

Georgia’s premier truck event, The Grounded Truck Gathering, is on April 29 and April 30 at the Cumming Fairground. For more information, click here.
