You don't want to miss the Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Extravaganza at Observation Knob Park on July 3rd (Saturday). The celebration will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the park located at 553 Observation Knob Park Rd, Bristol, TN.

Food trucks will be on hand Friday night and Saturday. Enjoy your day in the park with family and friends, and hang around for a wonderful concert by Whiskey Throttle at 6:30 pm on Friday and again on Saturday night.

Lots of craft and food vendors will be on site this year. The grand finale will be the fireworks show at 9:50 pm.

Entry to the park has increased to $3 per vehicle this year. Those interested in vending or sponsoring should contact mark Vance at mavance@woodmen.org. Tee shirts will be sold on site to help offset the cost of the band and fireworks, along with vendor fees. The $3 per vehicle fee goes to Sullivan County, and is the normal fee for entrance to offset operation of the park.

We hope you'll come out and join us for what is sure to be a funtastic weekend celebration of our nation's founding. My parents used to take us camping at Observation Knob Campground when we were young. It's also where I learned to swim in the lake and fished for hours on end without getting a bite.

About Observation Knob Park

Observation Knob Park offers spectacular views of the area. The campground is operated by the Sullivan County Government and is a dry-campground (no alcohol allowed). Situated on South Holston Lake, it is a prime lakefront camping facility. The park offers 175 campsites with water and electric, a fishing pier, boat ramp, hiking trails, playgrounds, and pavilion rentals. There is ample room for kids to occupy themselves bicycling around the park.

Located at 553 Knob Park Road, in Bristol, it's only a few miles Bristol Motor Speedway. The campground is open seasonally from late March through October 31 - 8 am to 11 pm daily.

The adjoining public boat ramp is available year-round, next to the fishing pier, and is where the stage is located for the Independence Day Celebration, and other events throughout the year. The boat-ramp is managed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency in cooperation with Sullivan County.
