Pizza Factory™ Announces New Franchise In Gilmer Texas

Gilmer, Texas-- The fact is most folks who live around these parts love a good pizza and so it comes as no surprise that the recently announced agreement between a well-known west coast pizzeria and two NE Texas experienced restauranteurs will double the Texas footprint of Pizza Factory. Ken and Kelly Wells wanted to be an integral part of the pizza legend's operation as they continue to open locations throughout the Southeast. The husband and wife entrepreneurial team cited the pizzeria's commitment to using fresh quality ingredients and its focus on community connections through Pizza Factory's "No-Bully Zone" programs. Brand CEO Mary Jane Riva made the announcement while complementing both Wells on their continued success in the restaurant industry and Texas' attractive marketplace for new business.

The Wells will have the choice of choosing between a fast-casual dining environment to the newer express quick-service model. Pizza Factory is known for being a family-friendly restaurant with inside/outside dining, curbside service, and delivery options. The restaurant prides itself on never using frozen food products. The vast menu offers all fresh hand-tossed pizza, pasta, wings, sandwiches, salads, craft beer, wine, and much more. Depending on the model built, the location can range in size from 1000-4000 square feet with the largest size featuring multiple dining sections, a children's arcade, banquet rooms for parties, and big-screen TVs. At the time of this publication, it is unknown which model will be built in the Gilmer location. Gilmer, Texas-- The Honorable 115th District Court Judge Dean Fowler wasted no time in sentencing Gerald Gibbs Duhon to state prison on October 12, 2021, according to the Honorable Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd. Duhon was found guilty of three charges of indecency with a child younger than 6 years of age. Duhon will not be eligible for parole under the current sentencing guidelines until he reaches 93-years-old, according to Byrd.

Six United States Marines from the Renowned Body Bearer Unit Rescue Stranded Woman as Floodwaters Rise. Arlington National Cemetary--Flash flooding can occur anywhere, at any time, and usually with horrible results. On September 16, the United States Marines intervened in what could have been a tragedy, when they observed a stranded motorist stuck in the middle of a flash flood. The 86th Annual East Texas Yamboree Opens October 20th and Goes Through October 23rd. Gilmer, Texas-- For those East Texans curious about whether we will celebrate the Fall Yamboree Festival this year, worry no more. Upshur County District Judge Dean Fowler Sentences Child Molester to 8 Life Sentences

Upshur County District Attorney Billy W. Byrd Prosecuted Upshur County Man for 8 separate counts of Indecency with a Child. Gilmer, Texas--Thomas Alan Auld,37, will be 97-years-old when he becomes eligible for parole after the Upshur County District Attorney persuaded jurors to convict him of 8 counts of Indecency with a Child. The jurors did not require much convincing considering the evidence presented to the Court which was presided over by the Honorable District Judge Dean Fowler. After a two-day trial, jurors returned a "guilty on all counts" verdict. Judge Fowler oversaw the punishment hearing where the jury assessed the maximum penalty at Life in prison.

Gilmer, Texas--At the crossroads of FM 726 and SH 300, halfway between Gilmer and Longview, sits a country store on a hill called The Market at Shadow Ranch. Brent and Leah Fyffe opened the meat market and gift shop where the old AW convenience store once stood, back in June. One of the many product offerings they have is something called Wagyu Beef. Wood County Man Gets Reduced Sentence After Shooting Texas Trooper in the Face in 2010

Sixth Court of Appeals Returns Life Sentence to Wood County District Attorney Due to Ineffective Counsel. Timothy Parmer, 56 receives reduced sentence.KETK Channel 56 News. Wood County, Texas-- The Texas Sixth Court of Appeals returned the life sentence of Timothy Parmer, 56, because of several issues related to having been represented by ineffective counsel during his trial in 2017 for an attempted capital murder charge he allegedly committed in 2010. According to court records, Parmer has accepted a new plea agreement of a sentence of 20 years with credit for the 4,025 days he has already served. Wood County D.A. Angela Albers substantiated the previous sentence had been vacated by the appellate court. The plea agreement was accepted on September 9, 2021, after the victim, Texas State Trooper Larry Vaughan decided he did not want to go through another trial.

Project Safe Childhood Nabs Gilmer Man

Gilmer man records nude child under the age of 12 and gets nearly 22 years in prison. Gilmer-- The Department of Justice launched an initiative in 2006 to fight an epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The U. S. Attorneys' Office and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) unites federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend and prosecute people who use the Internet to exploit and abuse children. The program is calledProject Safe Childhood and in conjunction with local authorities, they recently apprehended a culprit here in Gilmer, Texas.

Dr. Jerald Walton, Respected Citizen of Gilmer and Texan Dies in Accident

Dr. Walton, a Local Dentist passed away late Friday Afternoon. Gilmer-- Judge Anthony Betterton broke the news that respected local dentist, Jerald Dean Walton, passed away late Friday afternoon. His cause of death is believed to have been due to an accident. According to Judge Betterton, Dr. Walton was found on his property and it looks as if he became trapped between his vehicle and a gate. Judge Betterton further stated Dr. Walton's remains have been sent to Tyler, Texas pending an autopsy.

Gilmer-- It was a beautiful September morning when 19 terrorists from the militant Islamist terrorist group al-Qaeda attacked America and killed 2,996 men, women, and children in an unprovoked attack on the twin towers in New York City. Texas has a Long History of Capital Punishment

Bob and Doris Bowman tell the tale of 49 lynchings and legal hangings in East Texas between 1862 and 1942 in their book "Death by Rope" Prior to Texas joining the Union in 1836, we were known as the Republic of Texas, and back then the wild west had a different way of adjudicating law and order. When Texas became the 28th State to join the United States in 1836, a system of laws was implemented and expected to be abided by. When it came to capital punishment, the State gave the authority to put convicted murderers and certain other heinous criminals to death at the county level. Every county in the State had its own death row and the preferred method of execution was by hanging. In 1924 that all changed when the State introduced "Old Sparky" and the method of execution evolved from hanging to electrocution. Since every county couldn't afford their own electric chair, the State took over all executions, or at least they were supposed to.

Stock Act Violations Are Just One Issue Congress Is Facing

The Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (STOCK Act), is a tool used to prevent our elected federal officials from enriching themselves and their families by virtue of their elected office. It's a great tool when it works and when it doesn't work, that's when government watchdog groups get involved. When groups like The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust filed a complaint against a Senator or Congressperson, that can spell the end of a political career and in some cases, even prison time. This is such a serious matter that one of the first things incoming new elected officials receive training on is how to operate within the confines of the STOCK Act and they are required to attend annual training afterward. They can't send an office staff member or intern to sit in on the training for them. The elected official has to attend.

On Tuesday, September 5th,1882, a group of New York City labor union members got together and had a parade to celebrate all of the hard work they and their coworkers had accomplished so far that year. They had done a lot by erecting new buildings to build the greatest city in the world's skyline. They also cleared harbors and brought in new citizens from the Old World. It was truly a celebration that eventually turned into an annual one.
