I write extensively about the state of the U.S. banking industry. Of late, most of my articles on the subject have detailed a spate of recent branch closures of major U.S. banking establishments.
A major PNC Bank branch has closed today, this one in the state of Pennsylvania. BizJournals.com estimates the mid-year number alone for national PNC branch closures to be 173.
What follows is an update of a prior report.
U.S. Banks, 2023
According to a same-day November 17th report from The-Sun.com, PNC Bank's upcoming Strasburg closure is largely due to a reconsideration of their brick and mortar locations.
As excerpted from the report: The bank will shut down a location in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, on November 17. Customers looking to make an in-person transaction still have options in the area. A PNC ATM is located across the street from the closing location. Customers can deposit and withdraw cash from the ATM.
It was said in an October 1st report from The-Sun.com, PNC Bank's then-upcoming Strasburg closure should not overly inconvenience existing customers.
29 PNC Bank branches nationally had permanently closed on August 19th. All told, over 1,100 regional and major bank branches permanently closed this year, according to Crowdfund Insider.
The closing PNC Bank branch's address in Strasburg is 1 E Main Street.
The closures of U.S. banks is an ongoing story. In the event of pertinent updates related to this matter, inclusive of further closings and official announcements of milestone dates, I will share them here on NewsBreak.
