Introduction

The sign has gone up and to the public the state of Kentucky's first-ever Publix location is now official.

Firstly, according to ScrapeHero.com’s most recently-updated location count of the Publix grocery store chain: There are 1,388 Publix stores in the United States as of September 25, 2023. The state with the most number of Publix locations in the US is Florida, with 876 stores, which is about 63% of all Publix stores in the US.

Let us explore further.

Publix, 2023

According to a September 28th report from WDRB.com, the new Publix will be the first of several coming to the state.

As excerpted from the report: The sign is up at the new Publix in east Louisville. It's on Terra Crossing Boulevard, east of the Snyder, near Old Henry Road. It's expected to open sometime this year, but an exact date hasn't been released. The 55,000-square-foot grocery store is the first in the state, and one of three new locations in Louisville. The new store will employ about 150 people.

It should be noted the company is in the midst of an ambitious national expansion.
