Now comes word that a flagship Washington, D.C. location is set to open later this month.

According to a report from Popville.com, entitled “Whole Foods Grand Opening June 28 at the Parks at Walter Reed Uptown!” the opening has been long-awaited.

Per the company’s press release, as excerpted from the report: “Whole Foods Market will open a new 47,000-square-foot store, located at 7130 12th Street NW, on June 28 at 8 a.m. EDT. Part of the historic Walter Reed development, the store’s design embraces calming colors and reflective finishes, offering a nostalgic feel that blends with the architecture of the old army hospital.

The press release goes on to state: Whole Foods Market Walter Reed will be open from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. EDT on opening day. Regular store hours will be 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. Opening morning, customers will enjoy complimentary coffee and breakfast bites. The first 300 customers in line will receive a limited-edition tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon featuring offers up to $100 off.

The new location’s product assortment will reportedly feature over 800 local items from Washington, D.C. and neighboring states, in addition to its national line.
