According to a report from HometownNewsVolusia.com, entitled “Golden Corral Closing; Miller's Ale House Coming,” plans for the replacement entity appear to be headed to a successful outcome, though work still has to be done.
As excerpted from the report: The Golden Corral restaurant at 907 Taylor Road in Port Orange had a nice run, 12 years to be exact. But although the popular restaurant is in the process of closing, if all goes as planned, an equally well-known restaurant, part of a chain known as Miller’s Ale House, will be leasing the site.
The proposed new restaurant’s plan calls for a smaller size than its predecessor.
The report goes on to state: At the Port Orange Planning Board meeting March 15, a site plan modification for the demolition of the existing Golden Corral restaurant and the construction of the new 7,265 square-foot (223 seats) Miller’s Ale House Restaurant, along with associated site improvements, was discussed... The plans remain under review by Port Orange staff, who had some comments on some of the layout issues.
Reportedly, plans are expected to be resubmitted within the next two months. Final approval of the new location is anticipated shortly thereafter.
